to pay landlord money owed for unpaid rent

i owe my landlord about 800.00 in unpaid rent. i had a job at a supermarket, worked everyday, then i developed a bulding disc in my back tht hit my sciatic nerve. i was not able to work,had no money for food ,co-pays for Dr.\'s or to pay rent. i had to move but still owe landlord this rent money and he was not only my landlord but a friend too. i have no way of paying him back all the money i owe and dont want to leave him stuck. anything will help to show i intend on trying to pay him. i could have filed a workmans comp. case at work but couldnt swear i hurt my back at work and didnt want to file a bogus claim. thank you, Bonnie
